About

Sandrine Lescourant, also known as Mufasa, is a choreographer and dancer based in Marseille, and the founder of Compagnie Kilaï. Her work is rooted in hip-hop, and enriched by training in ballet, contemporary, and traditional African dance. Through her choreographic work, she explores the representation of social bonds and human relationships, using dance as a tool for dialogue, openness, and collective experience. She has collaborated with renowned choreographers including Amala Dianor, Pierre Rigal, and Anthony Egéa.This year, Sandrine Lescourant brings to our festival her newest work Blossom, a participatory performance that merges dance, music, and voice in a vibrant collective experience. Over the course of ten days, Sandrine and her team, consisting of a dancer, a gospel singer, a slam performer, a beatboxer, and a beatmaker, will lead an intensive workshop with 15 amateur participants of different ages and backgrounds. Together, they will co-create the performance through guided rehearsals focused on movement, rhythm, group dynamics, and improvisation. The final performance will be a powerful celebration of togetherness, blending professional and amateur energy into one dynamic and unifying experience.
