Trained at the Conservatoire Supérieur of Paris, Anna Chirescu has collaborated with various choreographers and performed works from the Merce Cunningham repertoire. In 2017, she co-founded the company Lava alongside visual artist Grégoire Schaller, developing projects that intertwine dance and visual arts. In 2022, she created VACA, followed by her first solo piece, KATA, in 2025. Her work explores the connections between body, memory, and politics through dance. Holding a degree in Literature and Humanities, she embraces a multidisciplinary approach that integrates dance, voice, narration, and visual arts, questioning the objectification of bodies, the tensions between the intimate and the collective, and personal mythologies.
Anna Chirescu will join the festival to present her piece Ordeal by Water and will also lead a workshop for students at the School of Ballet.
